Coin Design Competition - 100 Years Since Women Won the Right to Vote

In September 2018 the Central Bank of Ireland will issue a €15 silver proof collector coin to commemorate 100 years since women won the right to vote in Ireland.

As part of this celebration, the Central Bank is asking artists and designers to partake in a competition to design the coin.

Designers who would like to participate are invited initially to submit their Curriculum Vitae and samples or evidence of previous medallic works (such as coinage) for consideration (electronic and hard copy submission is required).

A shortlist of candidates will then be invited to participate in the design competition.

Each candidate will receive a design brief, together with the technical specifications of the coin.

They will also receive a design fee, subject to compliance with the design brief provided.

The winning candidate will receive a further payment in respect of the winning design.

Submissions should be sent by email to or by post to the below address.
